SIP People’s Congress Working Committee recently conducted a survey on “silver economy” and elderly services through a series of actions, with the aim of helping improve elderly services in SIP and boost “silver economy”, which incorporates economic activities that cater to senior citizens with tailored products and services.

The committee made a survey tour to SIP Elderly-Friendly Life Experience Center on Mar 2, learning about elderly services available in different sub-districts and interacting with senior residents to listen to their requests and opinions.

From Mar 4 to 5, the survey team from the committee visited a number of elderly service organizations and silver economy-focused industrial parks and businesses in Shanghai and Hangzhou to learn experience.
On Mar 13, the committee convened a symposium with related administrative departments to identify weak points in elderly services and the development of “silver economy” and discuss solutions.

The committee also organized an event on Mar 20, inviting people from related administrative departments as well as those from state-owned and other enterprises to jointly explore new paths for better development of silver economy and elderly services in SIP.
